With deep sorrow, we announce the death of Walter Ervin Brown, age 72 of Sumrall, MS on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS, leaving to mourn family and friends. Funeral services for Walter will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will be in the Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
He was born on December 1, 1950, in Greenville, MS to Leek Benton Brown and Annabell Pope Brown.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joe, David, Kirby, Richard, Billy, Donald, Jean, Darlene, and Shirley; his children, Walter, Jr. and Stephanie Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Brown, his daughter, Susan Ashley Brown Perkins; stepdaughter, Diane Jay; step-son, Hardy Williamson; grandchildren, Addison Perkins and Conner Perkins, step-grandchildren, Emily Guess (Steven), Amanda Foster, and 4 step-great-grandchildren; Sisters-in-law, Thelma Brown, JoAnn Brown, Katherine Brown, and Janice Brown, and brother-in-law, Bobby Palmer, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.
There will be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
