Funeral services for Wanda Jeannine Summerall Gilliland, 84, of Como will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Deer Creek Baptist Church in Rolling Fork, MS. She died on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Baptist-Desoto Medical Center in Southaven. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
She was a native of Mississippi, graduating from Rolling Fork High School and attended Delta State University. Wanda met and married Oscar Gilliland making their home in Southaven. She worked as an administrative assistant for Horn Lake Middle School and was a member of The Church of God of Prophesy in Memphis, TN. She later moved to Como where she was involved in community activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Gary Gilliland. She is survived by 2 sons, Steven, and Mike Gilliland; 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Garrett, Austin, and Brandon and 3 great-grandchildren, Magnolia, Bridger, and Elijah.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the services at the church. The family requests memorials be made to Deer Creek Baptist Church, Rolling Fork, MS.
