Funeral services for Wilburn Cheek, 78, of Carrollton will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. He died Friday, March 8 at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood. Burial will be in Moore Memorial Cemetery in Carroll County under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Mr. Cheek was born in Carroll County and attended Valley High School and then served in the Army Reserve. He married Carol Herring and they made their home in Greenville where he worked at Baxter Plasma Center. After his retirement they moved to Greenwood and then later to Carrollton. He attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Carroll County.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Cheek of Carrollton; daughter, April Davidson (Neil) of Madison; brother, Rayburn Cheek of Greenwood; sister, Bobbie Acy of Greenwood and two granddaughters, Olivia Davidson and Kate Neil Davidson.
There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home.
