William (Bill) Timothy Nicholson

William (Bill) Timothy Nicholson, 96, of Greenville passed away peacefully surrounded by his children at Delta Regional Medical Center on April 12, 2019.  His wife of 66 years, Barbera Lenz Nicholson, passed away in 2018.  There will be a graveside service for Bill and Barbera at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10 at the Greenville Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.

Bill was born in Greenville, MS and he was the son of Louis Meredith and Pink Millsaps Nicholson.  He was a WWII Air Force veteran.  He attended Ole Miss where he was a KA.  He started his career at JG Lusk and Company, leader in cotton and soybean brokerage until Mr. Lusk’s death.  He started W. T. Nicholson Cotton and Soybean Oil Company and worked in this industry until his retirement.

Bill will be remembered for his sense of humor, charming gentlemen ways, and his love and support for his children.  He loved reading, the beach, playing tennis, talking daily to his best friend of 70 years, Clarke Reed, and shopping the clearance aisle.  He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Meta Nicholson Hogue, and his brother, Louis Meredith Nicholson. 

He is survived by his children Meta Anthony and her husband Roger of Indianola, William Nicholson and his wife Tina of Inverness, Lucie Edwards of Greenville, and Pink Steed and her husband Chris of Inverness, and grandchildren, Allen Reed Anthony, Lindsay Steed, and Presley Steed of Inverness, Nick Edwards of Greenville, Kirby Brannon of Lafayette, LA and Jeremy Brannon of Kosciusko, MS; and great granddaughter, Charley Steed of Inverness.
