Funeral services for William Robert Stockton, Jr., 82, of Hollandale will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home, Hollandale. He died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at his home in Hollandale. Burial will be in Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mr. Stockton was born in Tennessee and graduated from high school in San Angelo, TX. In 1949 he married Virginia Porter making their home in Glen Allan where he was employed with the Corp of Engineers until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of Hollandale Baptist Church. Mr. Stockton was an avid fan of the sports program at Deer Creek School, enjoyed golf and was a member of Deer Creek Town and Racquet Club.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Jeni Butler (Randy) of Greenville, Karen Tice of Greenville and Susie Dill (Kelon) of Inverness; 3 sons, Billy Stockton (Susan) of Brandon, Toe Stockton (Sherry) of Cleveland and Randy Stockton (Kim) of Clinton; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Friday. Memorials may be made to Deer Creek School Athletic Department.
