William Todd Molin passed away December 18, 2022 in Houston after a four-year battle with Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church. Visitation is at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place in New York.
Bill was born in Brooklyn, New York to Emma and William Molin February 16, 1949. He grew up in Hicksville, New York. Bill received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from SUNY Oswego, a Master of Science degree in botany from SUNY Geneseo, and a PhD in plant physiology from North Carolina State University. He recently retired from USDA, Stoneville, Mississippi and had previously been employed by Monsanto (St Louis) and the University of Arizona. Bill enjoyed refereeing high school soccer games in the Delta, playing tennis, and fishing in the Adirondacks of New York.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Karen, his wife of 49 years, and son Zachary, both of Greenville; sisters Lynne (Carl) Eisman of Jackson, Missouri, Jan (Chris) Matthiesen of Hicksville, New York, Jill (Ralph) Passaro of Mooresville, North Carolina and brother Jeff (Anne) Molin of Hicksville, New York. He also leaves behind loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and members of Karen’s family.
Karen and Zach wish to thank all the family, friends, and neighbors who made this journey with Bill. And special thanks to Dr. Farhad Ravandi-Kashani, Ethel C. Estrada, FNP, Dr. Gheath Al-Atrash, and Megan Marcotulli, PA of the MD Anderson Cancer Center and the staff of Cornerstone Specialty Hospital and Harbor Hospice for the care they provided.
