Funeral services for Wilma Doris Yeager Gower, 82, of Leland will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 9 at First Baptist Church, Leland. She died Thursday May 5. Burial will be in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery.
Mrs. Gower was a faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church in Leland where she was actively involved and committed to serving the Joy Sunday School class, Bereavement Committee and Operation Christmas Child. She was retired from Greenville Mills.
She was a loving mother who supported her children and grandchildren in sports.
Mrs. Gower is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Mack Libourn Gower, Jr., parents, William R. and Essie Mae Yeager, siblings, Christine Alred, Shirley Schulter, William “Buddy” Yeager and Joan Schmidt.
She is survived by her son, Mack Gower (Lori); daughter, Kathy Gower; brother, Paul Yeager; grandchildren, Matt Gower (Sarah) and Julie Gower; and great granddaughter, Sarah Gower. Also by special family and friends, Sandra Jordan, DeeDee Hollloway, Fred and Sammie Ballard and Ruby Warrington.
There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or to Operation Christmas Child through First Baptist Church, Leland.
