Winner “Faye” Gordon Hitt

Funeral services for Winner “Faye” Gordon Hitt, 75, of Greenville will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home. There will be a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until service time. She passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Bolivar Medical Center Longterm Care.

She was born on March 17, 1949, in Roundaway, MS to Earnest O’Neal Gordon and Modie Lee Johnson. On May 31, 1972, she married Thomas Hitt, making their home in Greenville. Mrs. Hitt was employed with Hager Hinge for over 25 years. She loved playing the piano and singing. The Gordon family traveled around the delta singing gospel music and recorded their number one best-selling album Country Gospel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earnest O’Neal and Modie Lee Johnson Gordon, husband, Thomas Hitt, sisters, Pauline “Polly” Sherron and Christine Crowley and brothers, Douglas Gordon, Jake Gordon, Billy Wayne Gordon, and Bobby Gordon.

She is survived by a son, Steve Hitt; daughter, Kristy Redwine (Danny); two step-sons, Tommy Hitt and Dave Hitt; step-daughter, Debbie Oldham; sister, Earnestine Lonnenberg (Paul); 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
