Fannie Lois Stewart

Funeral services for Fannie Lois Stewart, age 82, of Greenville will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 5 in the Boone-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. She died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

Mrs. Stewart was born in Sidon, Mississippi. She married Ernest Stewart on April 20, 1954, and they made their home in Greenville. She worked as a setter at Greenville Mills. Her husband preceded her in death on October 3, 2007. 

Mrs. Stewart is survived by 4 daughters, Doris Dodd Bowman (Ray) of Pass Christian, MS, Barbara Duff (Bill) of Florence, MS, Vonnie Fischer (Charles) of Panama City, FL, and Donna Hester of Greenville; 5 sons, Ernest Stewart of Madison, MS, John Stewart (Tracey) of Taylorsville, MS, James Stewart of Natchitoches, LA, Edward Stewart (Connie) of West Monroe, LA, and David Stewart (Joy) of Poplarville, MS; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. prior to services on Tuesday at Boone-Smith Funeral Home.

 

Frankie Rodgers McManus

Graveside services for Frankie Rodgers McManus, 87, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m. today at Weir Cemetery in Weir, MS. She died Friday, December 1 in Greenville after a brief illness. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

Frankie was born April 9, 1930 to Audie and Sammie Sue Rodgers. She spent her early years in Weir before moving to Jackson. She was a 1948 graduate of Central High School in Jackson where she was a majorette with the marching band. 

After graduation Frankie met and married Walter L. McManus. They had one child. Mrs. McManus worked for the telephone company before moving out West to be with her husband who was in the U. S. Navy. They lived in numerous places before moving to Greenville in 1974. She was employed with JCPenney until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Greenville. She was also a member of various groups and organizations. 

Frankie loved to tell stories of the places she had lived, but she will be best remembered for her yard. Her flowers were her pride and joy. She would always say, "I live on the corner with all the crepe myrtles." 

Frankie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maxine (L.C.) Lollar. She is survived by her son, William E. McManus (Debbie) of Baton Rouge, LA; grandson, William E. McManus, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA and numerous friends and relatives. 

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

 

Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Oltremari

Funeral Mass for Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Oltremari, 73, of Greenville will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She died Thursday, November 30 in Houston, TX. Burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

She was a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School and earned a business degree from St. Catherine of Siena College in Memphis, TN. For many years she worked for Matt Virden-Architect and was also an administrative assistant at the Delta Democrat Times. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was active in Girl Scouts, and loved birds, especially hummingbirds. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and Elizabeth McCoy, and her daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Mayer" Oltremari. 

She is survived by a son, John Raymond Oltremari, Jr. of Houston, TX; a sister, Mary Ann Barber of Greenville; and two brothers, Jimmy J. McCoy (Barbara) of Houston, TX, and her twin, Billy McCoy (Sandra) of Petal, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

There will be a visitation from 4:30-6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to St.Joseph Catholic Church Restoration Fund, P. O. Box 1220, Greenville, MS 38702.

 

Alma Louise Watford

Funeral services for Alma Louise Watford, 77, of Vicksburg will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 4 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Thursday, November 30 at her home. Burial will be in Hollandale City Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

Mrs. Watford was born in Durant, MS moving to the Hollandale area at an early age. She graduated from Riverside High School and then attended Draughon's Business College in Jackson. In 1958 she married Robert William Watford and they made their home in Hollandale where she was employed with Twin County Electric for 34 years. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Watford, parents, J. T. Woods and Bessie Scallions Woods; three brothers, Curtis Woods, Cecil Woods and Lee Woods, Jr. and by two sisters, Mary Edwards and Earline Powell. 

She is survived by her son, William Rob Watford (Renea) of Vicksburg; daughter, Lisa Watford Christ of Vicksburg; sister, Peggy Woods Clark (Ronnie) of Ruleville; sister-in-law, Juanita Woods of Taylorsville, MS; six grandchildren, Gracie, Hunter, Skylar, Jason, Joey and Robert; and six great grandchildren, Brandon, Casey, Addison, Hannah, Taylor and Jadie. 

There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

 

Patsy Ann Blackwell

Funeral services for Patsy Ann Blackwell, 80, of Hollandale will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 2 at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 30. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. 

Mrs. Blackwell was a longtime nurse starting her career at Dr. Guess and Suttle in Jackson, and retiring from the Hollandale Clinic. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Blackwell, mother Beulah Wells, father, Raymond Wells, sister, Mary Lemay and brother, Billy Wells. She leaves behind two daughters, Debbie Hamlin of Grace and Lisa Harvey of Fremont, CA; granddaughter, Amber Newton of Rolling Fork; two great grandchildren, McKenzie Newton and Paxton Wilson; and three sisters, Peggy Scharmer of Brandon, Martha Chapman of Saluda, NC and Bobby Wells of Hollandale. 

There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
